Field notes

One of the five temples of the Preah Pithu group in Angkor Thom, in the woods east of the Terrace of the Leper King. Early archaeologists lettered the group T to Y; Daun Mea is temple V. The APSARA sign at the site dates it to the early 12th century.

It faces east, opening through a double vestibule, and has no enclosure wall. A lingam still stands in the sanctuary and is given offerings.

The foundation deposit stone of the central sanctuary lies exposed, its cavity filling with rainwater. It is in the Foundation Stones collection.
